Information provided by multiple manufacturers. All numbers represent an approximation and may vary based on elevation and other circumstances.
Foil balloons are manufactured from nylon and polyethylene. Polyethylene is extruded onto the nylon and heat-sealed to create the finished foil balloon. When filled with helium, foil balloons measuring 17" and larger will float. SELF-SEALING VALVES Foil balloons are manufactured with self-sealing valves. Balloons 17" and larger contain an embedded self-sealing HELIUM-FILLED FOIL BALLOONS

mechanism. Most are found in the tail, but in some oversized shapes,
the inflation point and mechanism are in a more obscure place. When inflating a foil balloon

SAFETY FIRST! Always tie each balloon individually to weights and avoid releasing helium-filled foil balloons into the environment. Always dispose of balloons properly. Balloons used around young children should be done so under adult supervision. Keep uninflated or popped latex out of the hands of small children, as they are a choking hazard. Never use metallic ribbon on helium-filled balloons. If released outdoors, they can tangle and cause electrical failures in power lines. Never inhale helium. Oxygen deprivation can risk injury and fatality.
with a regulator featuring auto shut-off, you will know when the proper pressure is at the fill level because the auto shut-off will emit a sound (similar to “puffff”) indicating that the balloon is full. When released from the regulator, the valve will close and the balloon is now sealed. To ensure it is sealed, you can lightly press over the area on the tail.
