MERCHANDISING STANDARDS

Provide EASY and REACHABLE access to balloons.

Keep balloons ORGANIZED and COORDINATED .

GOALS:

CARD AISLE: • MESSAGE balloons, unless holiday specific, should be merchandised in the card aisle. • Merchandise balloons to coordinate with the theme of the cards directly below the surrounding display. NOTE : Character birthday message balloons should only be merchandised near the children’s birthday card section. REGISTERS: • NON-MESSAGE balloons, especially characters, should be merchandised at the front registers. • Merchandise HOLIDAY, NEW MOVIES, TRENDS and balloons for your local SPORTS teams. NOTE: Balloons with messages, unless holiday specific, should only be merchandised in the card aisle. BAKERY: • CHARACTER balloons, message or non-message, should be merchandised near the cake book and/or cake counter, to capture add-on sales. • HOLIDAY or THEME balloons, message or non-message, should be merchandised where appropriate.

IMPORTANT REMINDERS:

• Freshen balloons at least once a week and be sure to keep all of your displays FULL of product. • ALWAYS use Reel Weights™ (b+B ® Item 011) and Reel Weight™ Inserts (b+B ® Item 021). • Clearly price each balloon with the correct UPC/retail sticker. • ALWAYS make sure the balloons coordinate.

STEP 1 : Attach the AIR-FILLED TUBE DISPLAY to the top section of the card aisle.

TIP: For both the HALO and the AIR-FILLED TUBE, be sure the clip is behind the cards and not visible.

STEP 2: Insert coordinating message 9"–14" air-filled balloons. HINT: Use 12" sticks so the displays are more compact and full (this may require cutting the sticks).

STEP 4: Attach ONE oversized shape using a Reel Weight™ and Reel Weight™ Insert. Unwind the ribbon about 18" or until there is enough space for the standard size balloons that will be placed below.

TIP: COORDINATE

your standard size balloons with the oversized shape you placed on the halo from step 4.

STEP 5: Attach FOUR standard size balloons of the same design, each with a Reel Weight™, one at a time. Unwind the ribbon until the top of the balloons hit the bottom of the oversized shape balloon directly above.

KEY DISPLAY POINTS: • The distance between the displays will vary based on the length of your card aisle(s). • If you have a longer card aisle, you can use more than 2–HALO displays and 1–AIR-FILLED display. As shown above, you can display 3–HALO displays with 1–AIR-FILLED display evenly spaced between each HALO. • The goal is to have them evenly spaced and merchandised.

Flat Halo Display 16444

STEP 1: Assemble the flat based Halo Display 16444. This rack will adjust in height, so depending on how big your display is, you may need to raise or lower the halo.

STEP 2: Place the flat Halo Display in the middle of your bakery table and make sure it is evenly surrounded by baked goods. Remember to adjust the height of the halo as needed.

STEP 3: Attach ONE oversized shape using a Reel Weight™ and Reel Weight™ Insert. Unwind the ribbon about 18" or until there is enough space for the standard size balloons that will be placed below.

TIP: COORDINATE

STEP 4: Attach FIVE standard size balloons, one at a time, of the same or varying design, each with a Reel Weight™. DO NOT unwind the ribbon. Make sure you coordinate the standard balloons with the oversized shape you placed in step 3.

BAKERY COUNTER MERCHANDISING

EQUIPMENT: Standing Tube for Air-Filled Balloons:

STEP 1: Assemble the Standing Tube Display and place it on a sturdy and flat surface. The display is free-standing and does not require a magnet or brace.

TIP: It is easier to insert balloons starting at the top and work your way down to the bottom of the display.
